Kaitaia Airport Upgrade

Kaitaia airport is 5km north of Kaitaia and is the countries northernmost airport served by Air NZ with scheduled services. The resort developments at Carrington and Kauri Cliffs have increased demand for use by heavier aircraft with private jets being regular visitors.

The airport runway pavement was strengthened and resurfaced to improve pavement life. Stabilisation was used to improve the strength of the pavement materials and a hotmix wearing course applied to the surface
